My husband and I have a contract in on a house down here in Dallas right now - to actually live in ourselves for a change! LOL... We look at houses on a daily basis for our real estate investing and don't really get our feathers ruffled by any pretty houses...However, when both of us saw this one - we both knew it had to be ours because we were oohing & ahhing every few seconds and just couldn't stop thinking about it! We have been waiting almost 1 week for the bank to tell us if they'll Read more [...]

I do a lot of working outside in the yard and gardens in Niagara Falls and in Dallas. Hot days can fell very long and boring when you don't have any amusement other than weeding, bagging and mowing. Garden wind chimes (aside from reminding me of the movie "The Hand That Rocks The Cradle"...LOL), make working in the yard much more fun, peaceful and tranquil. You stop concentrating on all the hard labor you're doing and enjoy their beautiful sounds. I like the bamboo and shell type Read more [...]

When I think about life, I often see it as simply moving things from one place to another. What do I mean by that? When you grocery shop, for example, you're moving the products you purchase from the store to your home. When you cook it, it's being moved from the packages, is eaten and moved to your stomach. Then, you move it out of your body, which then moves into the environment. This, then will cycle back through, helping to create something that grows. When you clean, you Read more [...]

I found a really neat website today, ParentsConnect.com, where you can go to get updated on fun activities and events for the entire family in your own local area! Especially great for teens and pre-teens! That's right! In fact, you can even install the widget on many of your social networking platforms or your own website so you can be up to date on the coolest events going on... Oh yeah, and the person who gets the most views from their widget - wherever that may be - wins $1000!!! - Read more [...]

I was doing a little research online today about the Swine Flu outbreak, now being referred to as H1N1 influenza A. Why are they calling it that now? Because it's hurting our pork farmers, mostly... Anyway, I ended up on a website, Scrubs Mag, that's geared towards nurses mostly... ...but what I loved about the site was that it was easily understood by a lay person - they don't speak in medical terminology that is so confusing or advanced that we can't get what they're talking about. The Read more [...]

Now that I psyched you all up with the last 3 posts on how to become a fitness model, you're all getting fit, I presume... Why not get fit, log the miles or the time you work out and use your mileage or calories as a way to donate to Breast Cancer? You're saying, "Wait...What?" 1. Go sign up at BeeWell Miles . 2. All you have to do is log how far you walked, jogged, ran or enter the times you played or participated in any other activity every day between now and October 31st, 2009. 3. Read more [...]

I've been doing a lot of research about stem cells lately, on my own... ...I have concluded that as long as they are harvested in a non-controversial or painful manner, that they could be indispensible for your health and your immediate relatives! Let me Explain: C'elle is a system for non-invasively collecting your own menstrual blood - as a woman - in the privacy and comfort of your own home - that naturally has an abundance of stem cells in it. The stem cells they can harvest out of Read more [...]

Okay...Thought I'd let you in on my "drama"...LOL On Saturday, I went out to watch my hubby and friends play beach volleyball and thought I'd get a head start on my Texas tan! I went to the tanning bed only a few times in Canada, but got an okay base tan, just so I wouldn't burn, as I know we are very active and "outdoorsy" and I didn't want to burn. So, it was very cool and overcast in the morning, but I wore my bikini anyway! It warmed up and I got to catch some rays. After a few Read more [...]

I just found out about this today and it is pretty cool... If you're a teenager and you're interested in becoming a torchbearer for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games, check out this website I found: SOGO Active This program is presented by Coca-Cola and they will award over 1,000 spots to be torchbearer before the torch is lit at the Winter Olympics. A torchbearer is a person that carries the torch the Olympic flame, typically from one end of the country to the other, to where the Olympics Read more [...]
