Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend - Kimberly EdwardsWow…It never ceases to amaze me how many nail salons try to dupe their customers into thinking that the acrylic nails are actually gel nails…

This is a serious problem because not only are you getting charged for more expensive “solar gel” or “bio gel” nails, the acrylic nails are not good for your health, unlike the gel nails.

So, How Do You Know The Difference?

If the product applied to your nails is in any kind of powder form, that you witness, before being put on your nails, they are ACRYLIC! Don’t let them tell you otherwise…THEY ARE LYING!

If the product is not a gel right out of a container onto the brush onto your nails, it is solar gel or bio gel. They are called both names.

Also, if you don’t put your nails under a UV lamp after the product is applied to your nails, then they ARE NOT gel nails…They are acrylic!

Gel nails come in completely clear, with a slight pink tint, and in colors (more rare). The French tip is applied with a white gel!

What’s Better About Gel Nails?

They aren’t bad for your heath, often are made of organic ingredients, and look much more natural!

The Downside?

Acrylic nails are known to be slightly more durable and stronger than gel nails…

So, make sure you get what you want, and DON’T let them tell you otherwise!
