So Ready for a Vacation!

Posted by: Kimberly  /  Category: Life, Tips, What's New

That’s right, people…

…This girl is ready for a vacation – somewhere exotic, warm, beautiful, far away on a beach somewhere!

Maldives

Maybe on a mountaintop somewhere or in a ski lodge…

Honestly, I just need a little time “out of the ordinary”…the usual grind online, researching real estate or making shoots…

…just a little down-time!

So, I’ve been looking around onine at some deals for all kinds of vacations – all-inclusive or otherwise.

What I found was unbelievable deals, especially from British Airways, right out of Toronto! They’re having their November Seat Sale right now they’re calling a “world sale”…

I usually fly out of Buffalo for convenience and lower prices, so finding deals out of Toronto, like round trips to London, England for $386 or to Paris for $494, I nearly fell out of my chair, literally.

How about a flight to Cairo, Egypt for $654? These are the vacations I’m talking about…

Honestly, we couldn’t go “Up North” in Ontario for cheaper than that!!!

Actually, I have my eyes on a vacation to Maldives for $928. That’s my idea of paradise…

Plus, you can get an “Upgraded” experience with 200+ entertainment options. You’ll also get British Airways’ world class service including complimentary food and cocktails on all flights and some of the most comfortable seats in the industry.

They can also help you plan the best holiday experience for you and your desired destination.

However, you must book by November 19th! That’s the only catch.

What’s your idea of the perfect getaway?

Sign me up! I’m ready to go! I just talked with my hubby about booking a trip…Check it out for yourselves & get your own trip! LOL

Solar Power is the New Hotness

Posted by: Kimberly  /  Category: Life, Tips, What's New

My husband and I are about to buy a house that will need electrical repair – almost a re-do.

So, instead of repairing it traditionally, we’re taking the opportunity to completely exchange the old system out for solar lighting and electricity.

Now, you may not have that opportunity, but that doesn’t mean you can’t use solar powered items to be more green, and save on electricity costs.

Whether you’re looking for functional security lights or decorative, festive lights for any occassion, you’ll be helping to save the planet with renewable solar energy that will save you money in the long run too.

Solar Security Lighting from Outdora

Only just recently, they’ve started selling really beautiful solar powered lights that work really well and are durable from places like Outdora.

Solar lights don’t just look like your parents’ old Noma Moonrays of old. They now come in some extremely elaborate, vibrant and glitzy designs with color-changing LED lights that bejewel and illuminate your outdoor space and make it your very own paradise at night time.

Solar Powered Lights from Outdora

I’ve never seen these solar planters before. What a neat idea! They come in several colors – 6 to be exact – and can be used electrically or with solar power. An unexpected surprise in your garden or on your patio…

Buying a Car Just Got Easier

Posted by: Kimberly  /  Category: Tips

One of our friends recently had her vehicle totalled in an accident here in Dallas.

So, immediately, her new car search was underway and it actually took her much longer than you’d think, considering this is Dallas and it’s such a huge metroplex.

Used Car

If she were in the UK, she could have had a much easier time finding a new or used cars.

BuyYourCar.co.uk

In fact, there is a spot I found online, when trying to help her out where you can buy new or used cars, lease or rent vehicles. Plus, they help you find funding and insurance. If you’re British, buying a car just got easier for you.

How to Apply Eyeliner

Posted by: Kimberly  /  Category: Beauty Tips, Tips

I’m posting a helpful article from Alexis Gould today to help everyone with their eyeliner application and to let them know what options they have by way of different types of eyeliners.

Personally, I don’t wear much eyeliner, only liquid above the upper lashes in everyday life. However, when I’m at a shoot, the make up artists I work with use a wide array of eyeliners and applications. Check it out:

Eyeliners 101 – How to Apply Pencil, Liquid, Fluid and Powder Eyeliners
By Alexis Gould

There are four most common types of eye liners – pencil, liquid, fluid, and powder. This article will provide a brief overview of these four products including the pros and cons of using each of these liners.

Soft Eyeliner Pencil Cocoa 0.04 Oz

Pencil Eyeliner: This is the stuff you used back when you were in your teens and first started to experiment with makeup. It’s easy to use and can be manipulated to produce lots of different effects. For example, you can create a daytime look by applying clean lines, or you can create an evening look by smudging it for the smoky eye effect. You can use it on both your upper and lower lash line, and they usually come in a wide variety of colours. I find they also last pretty long too, you can use it even if it’s just down to the last stub. The only problem is that they tend to smudge (especially during summer when we sweat more) but a trick to prevent that is to apply a neutral shade shadow below your lower lash line to absorb the oil and/or sweat. I also tend to avoid black pencil liners and go for espresso or dark plum shades, simply because I find the black to be fairly overwhelming and tends to create a Goth-ish look.

Stila - Liquid Eyeliner (Black) - Beauty

Liquid Eyeliner: Liquid liners are used when you want a dramatic effect, because the colours pigments are fairly intense. But that doesn’t mean they cannot be used for a daytime effect.

Liquid liners are either brush-tipped or soft or hard felt-tipped. I personally prefer the felt-tip as it is easier to manipulate. Soft tips feel better on the skin around your eyes, but hard tips offer more precision, so it really depends on your preference. I usually do a little wing at the outer edge of my eyes, and when I use the hard tip I work from the outside in. Liquid lines are great for creating bigger looking eyes, especially in the black shade, but I have also seen fun shades like turquoise and gold floating around.

The downside to liquid liners is that they are harder to use than pencils, and they often tend to run/flake. I have waterproof liners but they still seem to flake by the end of the day. But if I just wear for a couple hours in an evening out they always stay very well.

Fluid Liner: Fluid liners occupy a Read more…

Posted by: Kimberly  /  Category: Tips, What's New

Many of us, these days, either choose not to have a traditional bank account, don’t have the minimum required deposit for opening an account, especially in this economy, or just simply want to stay away from confusing fee structures and statements.

Did you know they do credit checks at many banks before they’ll let you open any kind of account? Okay, so, they want to check me over so I can give them my money to hold…Does that make sense to you?

Maybe you’re a teenager who wants to handle your own banking and spending of your allowance or part time job money. Maybe you’re about to travel and want your loose money to be more secure.

Well, NetSpend is a Prepaid Credit Card that let’s you do just that – all of the above.

NetSpend

It’s a credit card, either a Visa or Mastercard, you manage by loading money onto it. Virtually anyone can get one and can use it for purchases either around town or around the internet.

If you have any of the issues above and just don’t want a regular bank account, this is the way of the future!
